Ryan Taylor is blessed to have been a part of CHESS since the school’s inception. As Chairman of the Board, he ensures major decisions and the direction of CHESS meet the intent of the school’s vision, mission, and values. Ryan serves in the US Air Force as a mid-level manager to 60 Airmen. He is working on his MBA through Liberty University. Ryan and his wife, Ruth, have been married for 20+ years. Their boys are homeschooled and take online classes through CHESS. Ryan and his family currently reside in Germany.
Wende Penny is a technology director with 20+ years of corporate portfolio and financial management experience. Wende has a master’s degree in organizational management, with passion for leading, mentoring and training teams. Her family joined CHESS in 2015, and immediately felt called to serve the school, with the shared goal of empowering students to impact the world for Christ. I Peter 4:10,“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Brandon High works as a financial advisor with Edward Jones. He received his BA in Finance and Accounting from Cedarville University and previously worked as a CPA for Brixey & Meyer. Brandon has a desire to be diligent and responsible in stewarding the gifts God has given to CHESS in a way that brings Him glory and builds His kingdom through the teaching of CHESS students. Brandon’s wife, Rebecca, oversees the front desk and many activities at CHESS. Brandon and Rebecca attend Apex and are a part of a house church in Centerville.
Mark Simpson has over 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry in addition to several years as an adjunct professor. He received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he focused his research on the history of spiritual revivals in America. Mark and his wife Holly have always been passionate about seeing God move through students to spark global revival. He believes that the vision, values, and culture of CHESS provide a fertile ground for this kind of movement and considers it a humble privilege to participate in what God is doing in and through the school today and for generations to come.
Angie Kenworthy has over 15+ years of experience in Human Resources. Angie has an MBA from Xavier University, where she is also an adjunct Professor. Angie and her husband, Jeff, who works as a Firefighter and Finance Director at Fairfield West Baptist Church, are passionate about serving the Lord by volunteering their time to ensure children in the U.S. and around the world have the chance to hear about Jesus.
Tito Pel was born in the Philippines and attended Manila Bible Seminary. Coming to the United States, Tito completed his Masters in Divinity and Church Administration from Cincinnati Christian University. As a missionary with his family to the Philippines, Tito planted churches and started a Christian school. He currently oversees church plants, school and prison ministry, and serving as a Senior Pastor of Moores Hill Church of Christ.
Tara Lee serves as the Executive Director of CHESS Christian School and Preschool. As Tara completes her M.Ed degree from Cedarville University, coupled with her background in Homeschooling, Social Work, Psychology, and HR, Tara implements a vision for leadership and development to the administration, faculty, and students of CHESS. Beginning with their four children, Tara and her husband, Jeff, are passionate about serving the next generation through education to impact the Kingdom for Christ.
Ruth has a passion for Christian education and has been part of the Homeschool/Hybrid community for 6 years. Ruth and her family currently live in Germany, from where Ruth enjoys traveling to European countries. With an degree in accounting, Ruth serves the CHESS families from afar as the Operations Director, and also teaches an online Digital Presentation Course. Her favorite verse is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
