Upper School History

 


6TH GRADE

From Adam to Us Creation to Cathedrals will introduce students to ancient civilizations, the Great Empires, the early Church, and the Middle Ages through lessons written in a narrative style and richly illustrated with color photographs and maps. Each unit includes five lessons that look at biographies, landmarks, daily life, "God's Wonders" (natural resources), and "Our World" stories (major events).

CIVICS PART 1

Uncle Sam and You will immerse students in a year of learning about civics and government. Lessons focus on America's founding documents, branches of government, patriotic symbols, voting, the election process, Washington, D.C., the presidency, how Congress works, American holidays, and aspects of federal, state, and local government

CIVICS PART 2

Uncle Sam and You will continue more in depth lessons civics and government. Lessons focus on America's founding documents, branches of government, patriotic symbols, voting, the election process, Washington, D.C., the presidency, how Congress works, American holidays, and aspects of federal, state, and local government

GOVERNMENT

This course is a full year high school course that covers the government of the United States from its beginning to the present with a special emphasis on the Biblical pattern for government and the U.S. Constitution. Students will learn about federal, state, and local government and become better equipped to understand our country's government as they learn about contemporary issues facing our nation today.
